Urban Bible Training Centers
Urban Bible Training Centers (UBTCs) are a church-based model for preparing
urban believers for urban ministry. These centers are being established in
Northern New Jersey and in other states.
UBTCs goals are:
- To offer non-college level courses in basic biblical studies, applying
them to practical ministry and/or meeting study requirements for ministerial
credentials in the Assemblies of God.
- To provide mentors experienced in urban ministry who will disciple urban
believers for effective ministry.
- To provide an educational experience that will enhance the abilities of
those who desire college-level work.
UBTCs provide Bible-based classroom studies combined with mentoring from a
pastor or another spiritually mature leader. Volunteer classroom
instructors (area ministers and lay persons with proven expertise in their
subject) use the approved curriculum as the basis for their
instruction. Passing a standard final exam provided by Berean
University is required for a passing grade in each course.
